SmartLipoT

Also known as "laser liposuction," SmartLipoT employs laser technology to liquefy or "melt" fat deposits prior to drainage and suction.

One advantage to choosing SmartLipo is the benefit of gradual skin tightening, which begins during the recovery period and may continue for months to follow. This is made possible by the collagen-retracting effect of the laser probe.

South Florida Smart Lipo specialist, Dr. Mendieta typically recommends SmartLipoT as a stand-alone procedure only when patients wish to remove a small volume of highly localized fat, particularly when it is in the superficial (under the skin) layer. Often, this may include areas such as the:

However, if it is necessary to remove deep layers of fat as well, he may combine the technologies of SmartLipoT and VaserLipoSelection ®. In so doing, he can provide more defined contouring in the target areas.

Like Vaser LipoSelection, Smart Lipo has been found to pose fewer risks to the patient than traditional liposuction. The laser instrument glides through fat cells and ruptures them selectively while preserving the delicate surrounding tissues. As a result, side effects such as swelling, bruising, and bleeding can be reduced.
